Selangor FC brought home three points from Likas Stadium after defeating Sabah FC 2-0 in the 2024/25 Liga Super last night. 

Yesterday was the first away victory for the Red Giants in the league. The match started with Sabah FC getting the first goal in the 26th minute. Then, import striker Ronnie Fernandez equalised by scoring the first goal in the 31st minute. At the end of the match, young defender, Harith Haiqal scored the winning goal after reacting first to the ball that bounced off The Rhinos goalkeeper from Ronnie's header.  

According to Nidzam Jamil, Head Coach of Selangor FC, he is happy with the away win.

"We are happy with this away win. It's not an easy thing because Sabah FC also put on a good performance. I’d like to focus on the commitment shown by the players, especially those who came on in the second half. They have performed well after coming on in the match up till the final whistle. I also hope that this victory will give us that extra motivation in the FA Cup Final later," explained Nidzam Jamil.

From the #SABSFC match in the 2024/25 Super League match yesterday, we can takeaway a few important things such as:- 

Ronnie Fernandez continues to contribute 

Selangor FC import striker Ronnie contributed with one goal and an assist in the #SABSFC match. This is his sixth goal in the 2024/25 Super League and he is the second top goalscorer in the league so far. 

The fifth goal for our young #RedGiants centre back 

Harith Haiqal has shown improved maturity and is steadily growing in stature in defence from season to season. This young player also proved his sharpness in front of goal; not only from scoring headers but he also always getting in the right position to score goals. Harith scored the winning goal yesterday in the 87th minute thus opening his goal account for the 2024/25 season. The 22-year-old player has scored five goals during his time with the Merah Kuning club.
